It’s time to bring you up to speed with CLUB, our free-to-play mobile football ownership game that we know you’re excited to hear the latest about!
We shared a roadmap with you previously, but a lot has changed in the last few months! As our studio has grown, so have our ambitions for the game. Bigger ambitions mean more work on our side but a 10x better game.
In this post, we’ll delve into what this means and give you a glimpse of what the upcoming season has in store for you.

Strong foundations
As you’ve probably noticed, we’ve been hard at work over the past year, laying the technical groundwork for CLUB and assembling a world-class team (see here and here). On the technical side, we’ve developed a new foundation for the game that is truly unique — it’s SO innovative and agile that we’re keeping the specifics of this a secret for now but it’s one of the reasons we’re so confident in CLUB’s success! 🤫
We’ve also attracted experienced advisors from the gaming world, most of whom have personally invested in the project, and whose valuable insights have further fortified our foundations and raised our ambitions even further.
On top of that, we’ve been busy raising additional capital. This has helped validate our thinking and opened up some very exciting new partnerships for us. All of this ‘behind-the-scenes’ work has been our key focus for the last few months and will ensure we deliver against our vision.
The 2023–24 season: Closed Testing
After our successful ‘Season Zero’ player engine test, which involved over 1,000 of you in 2022–23, we’ve always aimed to test our wider game mechanics in the next season. This is still the plan.
We’ve continued to refine the scoring system you experienced during Season Zero and we’re currently testing internally the technical implementation of the game with an upgraded performance stats package for faster, deeper content.
Receiving feedback from our community is important to us and crucial to any successful game franchise. We estimate that it will take most of next season for us to build in the key game mechanics bit by bit, testing at every stage. So that we — and you — get the most from this experience, we’ll be releasing the game in waves, so that we can see the impact of any changes from one group of COs to the next.

Pushing Boundaries
Remember, CLUB isn’t just another football mobile game; we’re looking to change the genre. Our vision is to create the world’s most rewarding sports game: delivering an immersive experience that seamlessly combines elements of fantasy football; light football management; best-in-class social features and a companion experience like nothing you’ve ever seen before. We’re crafting a game that’s easy to pick up and play yet offers enough depth to keep you coming back for more.
From incorporating players from all the major leagues (including women’s teams), to implementing an innovative scoring engine, to a progression system that means you can join at any point in the year, we want CLUB to redefine the football gaming landscape. ⚽
Just like Pep at City, that level of innovation takes time to do right, which is why we won’t rush something out before it’s fully baked. We appreciate your patience, understanding and feedback.
