Hey COs! The football season might be drawing to a close but work in the Formation Games Studio is ramping up! Let’s dive straight into what we’ve been up to this month…
Our socials are on fire!
In May, we proudly announced a new partner and investor in Formation Games — Little Dot Studios, an award-winning digital content agency and media network. Little Dot collaborate with some of the world’s most recognised TV, sports and consumer brands, creating premium content for over 600 social channels globally. Altogether, Little Dot Studios is responsible for a whopping seven billion organic views per month 👀
To kick off our partnership, we sent Olivia Buzaglo down to Lewes FC, a community club with a seriously cool ownership model. If you’ve not seen the TikTok yet, check it out here.
This was the first part of our new ‘Meet the Clubs’ series — more of this coming soon. If you know a club with an interesting backstory that we should visit, please get in touch!
We also introduced some fresh faces to our TikTok channel and boy, did they make a splash! A couple of our videos went viral and, altogether, racked up an incredible 9 million views! Thanks to all our new contributors for helping to really put CLUB on the map this month.
Game development
We’re continuing to build the foundations of the game and this month we rallied around our internal working prototype to test the brand new game engine and hunt down any early bugs. We managed to squeeze in the end-of-the-season action during this test and let’s just say the leaderboard became a hotbed of fierce banter…
Your feedback will be crucial in making the game the best it can be, so stay tuned for more updates on when and how you can contribute.
Another new signing!
The Formation Games team keeps growing, and this month we added Poppy Bennett as our Multi-Media Marketing Apprentice. Poppy lives and breathes football, having been a football coach and player, with spells at Tottenham Hotspur and Stevenage.
NIFC lift the trophy 🏆
Newcastle Independent FC finished their season in style, defeating local rivals Newcastle Blue Star to claim the Northumberland FA Benevolent Bowl. The winning goal came in the 91st minute with Harvey Walsh firing home after a quick counterattack move.
Adam from Formation Games was there in person, cheering them on to victory! Well done NIFC.
It’s a wrap!
European football is pretty much wrapped up now, and what a thrilling season it’s been! While we’ve been hard at work building the game, you’ve been enjoying our various community side games. So here is a quick shoutout to some of our community champions this year:
